MONTEGO BAY JAMAICA
Why Visit Montego Bay? Montego Bay or MoBay as the locals know it is the complete resort area with a large convention center and the Rose Hall Resort area just to the East of the central city.  Montego Bay is centrally located in Jamaica.  Explore Jamaica as you can daytrip to Negril, The South Coast and Ocho Rios easily from Montego Bay Near the airport.  Good for shorter stays; especially important for family Vacations/Reunions or Destination Weddings as many hotels are 15 minutes from the airport.  Most major airlines have inexpensive flights here from many cities.  Great for Golf Vacations, Festival Time (Reggae SUMFEST), Spring Break and Quick Weekenders.
Montego Bay is a busy, bustling community. Renowned for its beauty, it is a place where history and legend come together to offer the most intriguing attractions. Visit Rose Hall Great House and hear the shivering tale of the white witch, Annie Palmer. A tour of old plantation houses like Greenwood and Belfield is an enjoyable interlude in history. Or take a river-rafting trip down the Great River or the Martha Brae and enjoy a slice of serenity. The Montego Bay Marine Park is 10 square miles of protected marine life alive with coral reefs and exotic fish. Swim at the legendary Doctors Cave Beach, known for its healing powers. Gloucester Avenue Hip Strip is the pulse of the town and boasts restaurants, art galleries, duty-free shopping and the variety of arts and crafts at the Crafts Market is a treat not to be missed.  Stop at Margaritaville for action and music right on the sea.  Montego Bay is really multiple vacation destinations rolled into one. You have the Hip Strip where the inexpensive hotels are located with a public beach at Doctors Cave Beach or Aquasol Beach. A string of fabulous all-inclusive resorts have been built in Rose Hall including Riu, Iberostar, Hyatt along with the reliable Sandals Resorts for Couples, Zoetry and existing Jamaican hotels like Half Moon, Hilton and Holiday Inn.  Development also sticks out into the middle of Montego Bay including Dreams, Secrets and Breathless Resorts.  West of Montego Bay you have luxury resorts of Round Hill and Tryial near Sandy Bay.  East of Montego Bay, you have resorts in Trelawny including Melia Braco which has always been one of our favorites.  Most of these resorts are within half an hour from the airport. It is a good group town as we have large hotels and most groups don’t want a long ground transfer after arriving in a foreign country.  If you are hosting a destination wedding, many guests will only come in for 3 or 4 nights so easy airport access is Montego Bay’s strongest selling point. Montego Bay, Jamaica is also the central hub if you are into exploring all that Jamaica has to offer.  Tourists take daytrips to Ocho Rios and also Negril as it is less than 2 hours in both directions.  You can head up into the mountains above Montego Bay to see the Rocklands Bird Sanctuary or go ziplining.  Visit the South Coast, take a tour of the Montego Bay area or head out to Sea in the Marine Park with any of the sailboats or dive guides.  My favorite vantage point is the panoramic view from the White Witch Golf Course clubhouse.  The wine is expensive but good and the view is worth a million dollars. Over twenty years, we have enjoyed our stays in Montego Bay. We have stayed on the strip and also out in Rose Hall at most of the hotels.  The beaches past the Freeport put in the center of the Montego Bay so you can almost wave at the landing aircraft.  The restaurants on the strip are very good and not expensive. If you have a rental car, you are free to move around the area or you can select all-inclusive and only leave the resort for sightseeing.  We can pre-package daytrips or your group can get a driver and just go.  Once in your life, you should head to Reggae Sumfest and stay up all night with the reggae crowd.  You start out with rum and food and end up with coffee and rasta breakfast. Montego Bay is one of the BEST Golfing Resorts anywhere in the Caribbean.  Play golf in the mountains, across sloping hillsides, along the sea and everywhere in between. Panoramic vistas with stunning ocean views await you on most courses.  Chase a good round with a fine Jamaican Rum or Red Stripe Beer and a fine Cuban Cigar and you will be in 19th hole heaven.  Choose from 5 golf courses within 20 minutes of your hotel.  Played by Royalty and Golf Pros so we know that you will enjoy a resort round while you are in Jamaica. Montego Bay, Jamaica is luck to be serviced by the Donald Sangster airport which has flights to a multitude of cities in the USA.  With the addition of Southwest and Jetblue flights to the Caribbean in addition to American, United and Delta you can get there from most cities either nonstop or with a single connection.  This really makes Montego Bay The Complete Resort.
